Landscape Jasper is said to protect against jealousy and mistrust. It is said to strengthen trust in relationships and in the world and help one be honest with oneself. It is also said to have an inspiring and imaginative effect, encouraging one to dynamically put ideas into action and pursue goals with perseverance.

Alleged effect

In healing stone science, landscape jasper is recommended for stomach pressure, heartburn, bloating, and belching. It is also said to have a positive effect on environmentally induced allergies, especially skin allergies and psoriasis. It is also said to stimulate digestion and relieve constipation.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Landscape Jasper (also known as Picture Jasper) is a variety of microcrystalline quartz (SiO₂) with landscape-like patterns made up of various mineral inclusions such as iron oxides, clay, chlorite, and volcanic ash. It forms in sedimentary deposits, often near volcanic activity. The most beautiful specimens come from the USA (Oregon, Idaho), Namibia, Egypt, and Australia.

Pflege & Reinigung

As a jasper variety, it has a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7 and is robust. Clean under running water, recharge in the sun or on rock crystal. It is low-maintenance and suitable for everyday use.

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

Landscape Jasper is hard to confuse due to its unique patterns. Similar stones include picture jaspers from other regions, which, however, show different color palettes. Rhyolite can also exhibit landscape-like patterns but often has a glassier surface.
