Meaning

Unakite is said to promote regeneration after strenuous exertion and severe exhaustion caused by overwork or emotional stress. It is said to help overcome failures more quickly, avoid self-depreciation, and instead recognize the learning effects of mistakes. It is also said to strengthen the wearer's patience and support acceptance of one's own weaknesses.

Alleged effect

In healing stone science, unakite is said to strengthen endurance, stamina, and perseverance. It is considered a stone that fundamentally supports all healing processes and can therefore be excellently combined with other healing stones to complement or enhance their effects.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Unakite (also known as epidote) is a metamorphic rock made up of epidote (green), orthoclase feldspar (pink/salmon), and quartz (clear). It forms through the transformation of granite under hydrothermal conditions. Its characteristic green-pink mixture makes it unmistakable. Locations include the USA (Virginia, North Carolina), South Africa, Brazil, China, and Norway.

Pflege & Reinigung

Unakite has a Mohs hardness of 6–7 and is robust. Cleaning under running water, recharging on rock crystal or in the sun. It is easy to care for and suitable for everyday use.

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

Unakite is hardly confused due to its unique green-pink color combination. Occasionally, it is confused with epidote granite, which shows a different color distribution. Correctly named in commerce, no fakes are known.
