Citrine is said to convey joie de vivre and courage. As a "sunny" stone, it is said to be supportive in cases of depression and oppressive influences and subsequently aid in self-realization. Alleged effect

Citrine is said to improve digestion by supporting the functions of the stomach, pancreas, and spleen. It is also said to have a positive effect on early-stage diabetes.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Natural citrine is a rare yellowish quartz variety, colored by traces of iron. Most stones sold as "citrine" in the market are heated amethysts – recognizable by their strong orange-red color. Genuine citrine is typically pale lemon yellow to smoky gold.

Pflege & Reinigung

Easy to care for like all quartz (hardness 7). Clean under running water and charge in the sun – citrine is one of the few stones that does not fade in sunlight. Suitable for gemstone water.

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

The greatest risk of confusion: Burnt amethyst (vivid orange) is mass-marketed as "citrine." Genuine natural citrine is pale yellow and significantly rarer. It can also be confused with yellow topaz or golden beryl, which have different crystal systems.
