Meaning

Rock crystal is cherished as one of the most important healing stones. It is said to have the special ability to amplify the effects of other stones, making it a kind of 'booster stone'. This is why it combines well with other stones to reinforce their energies.

For millennia, rock crystal has fascinated humans. The ancient Greeks called it 'krystallos' and believed it was water frozen to ice that would never melt again.

Alleged effect

Used alone, rock crystal is said to significantly increase self-awareness, making it easier for the wearer to defend their own point of view. It is valued for promoting clarity of thought and improving general perception. When placed on a swollen or painful area of ​​the body, it can provide relief.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Rock crystal is the colorless, purest variety of quartz (SiO₂). The crystals grow hydrothermally in veins and geodes and can reach several meters in size. The name comes from the Greek "krystallos" (ice) – it was believed to be water that had frozen into ice.

Pflege & Reinigung

One of the easiest gemstones to care for. Clean under running water and charge in the sun – rock crystal can easily withstand sunlight. It is also suitable as a charging stone for other gemstones (geode or cluster).

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

High-quality rock crystal is clear and free of inclusions. Cloudy pieces or those with cracks are significantly cheaper. Synthetic quartz exists in the industry but is rarely offered as a healing stone, as natural rock crystal is sufficiently available.
