Meaning

Ocean Jasper is a rare variety of jasper and is characterized by its vibrant colors and diverse patterns. It is said to support the processing of emotional stress. It is also said to promote joie de vivre and elevate the mood. Thus, it can help reduce stress and find inner peace and balance.

Alleged effect

In healing stone science, ocean jasper is said to have a supportive effect, especially in connection with physical challenges such as tumors or cysts. It is said to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the body's natural detoxification process. It is also said to have a balancing effect on liver health. Furthermore, it is said to have a strengthening effect on the immune system and the body's self-healing powers.

Mineralogie & Entstehung

Ocean jasper is an orbicular (spherical) rhyolite – strictly speaking, not a jasper, but a volcanic rock with spherulitic inclusions. The colorful circular patterns arise from radial crystal growth of quartz and feldspar. It comes in many colors: green, pink, red, white, yellow, and brown. The only location is Marovato, northwest Madagascar.

Pflege & Reinigung

Ocean jasper has a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7 and is robust. Clean under running water, recharge in the sun or on rock crystal. It is colorfast and suitable for everyday use.<br>

Verwechslungsgefahren & Qualität

Ocean jasper is hardly confused due to its unique orbicular patterns. Rainforest rhyolite can have similar patterns, but it has a different color palette and origin (Australia). Since ocean jasper only comes from Madagascar, the origin is an important quality feature.<br>
